Adventures in the Old World
Old Tyme Music Workshop
Experience the roots of Colonial, folk, Old Time, Country and Blue Grass music in early America. Play or sing early English, and Scottish-Irish American tunes such as "Barbara Allen", "Get Along Cindy", "Silver Dagger", "Black is the Color" or an "Old Blue" medley. Play along with the Spoons, the Dancing Man or a Bow Harp. The Presenter will also perform on the fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and Appalachian dulcimer and teach simple percussion folk instruments.
Long term plans are for authentic hand made Appalachian dulcimers made from indigenous Oak Glen woods to be made, for use in the workshop and for possible future sales.
