Learn early American and Old World coopering and furniture making: how early wood workers used hand tools to make a simple bucket and a foot stool or other furniture. Vistors can assemble the parts; cut and hand planned by the master wood wright. Observe the demonstrated use of tools and techniques such as the ax, adz, span saw (bow saw), scorp (barrel making tool), draw knife, hand planes, chisels, gouges and mallet, awls, "holding dogs" and much more.
Joiniery techniques, without the use of nails will befeatured as well. Both pine and hard woods will be used. Much of the demonstrator wood was home grown on Rileys Farm. There is an additional price for the possible sale of the "take home" wood items made in the woodwright's shop.
