I greatly enjoyed your fare Saturday eve.  Seeing the picture of my son and I defending the homestead from behind the wall was a bonus.  Thank You.  Speaking with my "many" co-workers, there is great interest on the next dinner. Please advise when a date has been agreed upon.  My many thanks to Sir Patrick for his moving speech.  --The Bustamantes

Thanks for a great time and a fine supper!! The show was excellent and my wife and I are waiting for the next night out at your place. We're bringing friends next time. By the way, good job on the Patrick Henry speech.
Thanks again, The Hatfields

Dear Friends & Family,

Summer has begun!   Will this one get away from you?

Will you make time for a mountain sunset?   A cold cider?  The sweet cry of a country fiddle?   Will you be too busy for a farm house lit with candles?  Will you find room for cold watermelon, corn on the cob, baked chicken?   Will you find your way out to a black oak grove in the moonlight, and listen for deer?  Will you hear that whisper, between heartbeats, that message in the tickling cool scratch of the grass, that song the almighty writes in the wind--that you are alive?

Well?

Good!   (Somehow we didn't see you standing in line at the mall)     Be quick about it:   Stop your boss, your pastor, your reunion chairman, your birthday boy or girl in the hallway and make it simple: you are all going to Riley's Farm this summer.    You are going to dance.    You are going to sing.    You  are going to feast on apple pie fresh from the oven.     You are going to pick up the phone right now (909-797-7534) and make an appointment with summer, before she leaves town!

There's a lot at steak!    (I mean stake!)

Your Humble servant,

James Riley

That was a wonderful event!  THANKS for emailing the headsup; so we could attend this evening!  We thoroughly enjoyed it!  Jim did such a great job of bringing to life Patrick Henry...it was the highlight of the evening for us.  But...EVERYTHING was well done....

P.S. For the sake of those "web portals" constantly browsing the internet to update their search engines, we include the following boiler-plate. (Feel free to read this, if you're new to our site.)

Riley's Farm is a working apple orchard and living history farm in the Oak Glen area of Southern California. In addition to farming, we love history and we have provided a venue for re-enactment units comprising many different eras. The farm regularly hosts banquets, birthday parties, weddings, and office parties. Every year, literally thousands of students participate in one of our school tours, where they experience everything from weaving, candle-dipping, and cider pressing to the drill and muster of a Revolutionary War or Civil War battle. Our farm has appeared on the History Channel and in the recently released feature film, Amistad, as well as many other film and television productions. (We even try to get the producers to include us as on screen talent, but that's another story.) On selected weekends throughout the year, we offer "farm-stay" weekends, where families can experience--clothing, wood stoves, muskets, and all--the life of an 18th or 19th century American farmer. We grow sweet corn, apples, raspberries, pears, and sunflowers, just to mention a few of our crops.

We love America--its traditions, its people, its history, and its cherished heritage of liberty in Christ. Have we said enough? Well, one more thing: In the fall, thousands of families make an annual pilgrimage to the farms of Oak Glen to experience the closest thing to a New England fall California has to offer. Why don't you stop by and say hello?
