Helping Riley's Farm
Keep up the Fight!

In February of 2004, a few Oak Glen business competitors signed a petition full of falsehoods about our farm and family.   Since then thousands of you have told the county of San Bernardino how much Riley's Farm Means to you.   That support has helped our response to the county beyond measure.    We have a long fight ahead of us, but all of you make it worth the effort.
Thank you!

If it comes down to a court battle, I would be willing to donate    $10    $25
$50   $100  to a Riley's Farm Legal Defense Fund.     (This would constitute a pledge;   we are still setting up the entity to receive this money.)
I will call Randy Scott at the County of San Bernardino (909-387-0236) and tell him the new general plan should allow for farms like Riley's without conditional use permits and mitigation studies.    (Randy is a good guy, but he needs to understand why this is a county-wide issue.)   Make sure you read the blue text link first.
I am a candidate to purchase property or engage in a Riley's Farm limited partnership.     Let's talk details.
I will call the Press Enterprise (951) 368-9403 and urge them to start covering both sides of the Riley's Farm Story.
I am an attorney with land use and environmental law experience.    I will volunteer time to help in this fight.
I will forward this to my email list.

Here are my thoughts on how you should fight this battle:

March 2006, It's coming down to the wire!  Do you want to see a living history farm in Oak Glen or should the Riley family pack up and go.    Attend the San Bernardino County Planning Commission meeting on March 23, 2006.   Details.

By July of 2005, the Riley Family had spent more than $50,000 in application and study fees, in order to meet county land use requirements--more than any other similar Oak Glen business undergoing a conditional use permit application.   All of the studies indicate our application will have little, if any, impact on our neighbors.

Meanwhile, at least two of the complainers are operating businesses without any land use permits at all.

March 30, 2006. The "Concerned Citizens of Oak Glen" have appealed our victory at the Planning Commission and have asked the Board of Supervisors to deny our conditional use permit application.   Details.
