It all began on Friday, when the Riley Children began preparing their eggs, squash, and milk for sale to the soldiers.   Here, Lizzy, Mallory, and Nicholas get ready to profit from their wares.

Dr. Willard Blankenship, a descendant of Dr. Patrick Napier of York County, Virginia, demonstrates the tools and trade of an 18th century surgeon.
On Saturday morning a band of Tory Soldiers led by British sergeant John Savage of the 33rd Regiment of foot, march on the tavern.
British soldiers depicted here by Radford Polinsky, Brett Landis and Spencer Deal, prepare to fire on the Morgan's rangers, entrenched behind a stone wall.
A roar of musketry erupts from behind their position, as a company of Daniel Morgan's rangers fire back.

On Saturday evening, some of the encampment gathered for a
feast and a country dance.

On Sunday morning, the tavern keeper and his family temporarily lost possession of the public house to the redcoats.  In these scenes, soldiers of the 33rd prepare to fire from the attic dormer windows.

After storming the tavern, Morgan's Rangers discuss the conditions of
surrender with British and Tory soldiers.
