1. What will we learn?
Our program focuses on learning about American history, American farm life, and nature. See What Will We Learn for more detail.
2. How hot is it in the summer?
Usually it is about 10-15 degrees cooler than the surrounding towns, getting into the 80's and 90's on some days. Most strenuous outdoor activities are done in the morning, and the afternoon activities are done inside buildings or under tents.
3. Is the program co-ed?
Yes, for our day-time program the boys and girls are both mixed together.
4. My child is coming with a friend, will they be in the same group?
Yes, if you let us know we can make sure that your child is in the same group with their friends or other family if they are in the same age group. During parts of the day, the groups are broken up by age.
5. What type of qualifications and experience does your staff have?
Our staff is very experienced and well trained. They also work year round with children, not just during the summer. Check out our staff page for more details.
6. How many weeks can a child be in the program?
The program runs for 13 weeks, a guest can attend all 13 weeks if they choose. The minimum reservation is for one week. The program is structured in a way that a child could come for one week, or all summer long and still have new and exciting experiences.
7. Do you have emergency response plans?
Yes, we have an extensive employee manual and training program to help us deal with all possible situations, including medical, fire, earthquakes and uninvited guests.
