Riley's Farm Summer Day Camp
Where kids love to learn!
Why Choose Riley's Farm?
Experience:
We have been hosting educational tours and programs for over 20 years. Last year, over 70,000 students and 20,000 parents took part in one of our educational programs. During the school year, we will regularly play host to over 700 students a day, of all ages and backgrounds. Most camps employee staff and counselors only during the summer. All of our summer staff works with children all year round, and only the best of our staff stays on to work our summer programs.
Small Program Size:
Our summer camp program is limited to 80 guests, not hundreds. This means that everyone is able to get even more personal interaction with our counselors and historians. Our largest group size is 15 students and often times multiple staff members work with one group. Our staff to guest ratio is 5 to 1.
Educational Theme:
Our program is designed not just to keep kids busy, but has a goal of educating while having fun. All of our crafts, games and presentations are based on learning and interacting with history. Every one of our counselors is a trained living historian dressed in period 18th or 19th century clothing
Location:
We're in the cool mountain area, but still just 10 minutes from home! Most mountain camps are several hours drive, but Riley's Farm is just minutes from any "down the hill" locations. We are usually 10 to 15 degrees cooler than Yucaipa and Beaumont, which allows outside play without outside heatstroke.
Staff:
Our staff doesn't consist of teenagers hired just for the summer; they are full time, year round, highly trained living historians and teachers. Each staff member for our summer camp is CPR and First-Aid Certified, and has undergone a background check. Each staff member is highly trained in how to interact with children, educate guests and deal with emergency situations. Plus, they are genuinely nice people!
On Site Owners and Managers:
Jim and Mary Riley, and their six children, live on the site, right in the middle of our tour grounds. They are very involved and very accessible at all times. There are also several managers and supervisors on the grounds at any given time.
You Know Us:
It is most likely that you or someone you know has been here before. You know we run a great program, because you've experienced one before. Our business is built off of word of mouth and returning customers.
No TV, no Computer:
Here, kids will go on hikes, play sports, be artists and learn about history. They won't be sitting around playing computer games or watching movies. We believe that computers and TV's are bad baby sitters, and children are allowed to better develop and grow by interacting with the world around them.
