Buttermaking: use a real colonial churn to turn cream into butter and learn about the workings of a colonial home dairy.
Archery: Benjamin Franklin, during thesummer of 1775, wanted theAmerican army to be equipped with bows and arrows, due to the shortage of gunpowder. Try your hand at Ben's weapon of choice.
Colonial farm walk: take a guided walking tour of the Colonial Chesterfields grounds with one of our farm hands.
Tomahawk Throwing: most tomahawks were never thrown in battle, but they sure are fun to throw by way of sport. Test your skill!
Colonial Games: Our 18th century ancestors played games as well. Try your hand at games like trap ball, cup and ball, graces, and nine pins.
Quill & Ink: Try your hand at 18th century "round hand" with a goose quill and powdered ink.
Each workshop is 20 minutes in length and is $2.50 per person per workshop. Purchase all six workshops and get two hours of fun for $12 per person. If you have a group of 30 or more people, you may wish to book our Colonial Farm Life Adventure.
